ABOUT
Poetry is often encountered through school, where every word can feel distant, overanalysed and disconnected from our own experience. I wanted to take it out of books and bring it into everyday life.
For the first drop, I selected three fragments from three different Baudelaire poems, based on my own reading. Each fragment was then developed into its own visual motif and applied across the different objects in the collection. They appear on everyday objects that can be carried, worn and kept close: bags, pouches, scrunchies and book sleeves. Like a note we keep because a few words resonate with us, the object becomes a possible entry point into the poem from a fragment to the full text.
The visual language starts from my own handwriting, treated like a personal inscription. It is transformed into a graphic pattern through a digital system, then turned into stencils and applied to the fabric with an airbrush before the pieces are sewn. The process moves from hand to digital and back to hand, connecting precision and reproducibility with the human gesture and its imperfections. I then sewed and finished each piece by hand, also designing their labels before selling them as unique pieces. The result is not an illustration of the poems, but another way of encountering them through an object that can be seen, touched, worn and lived with.
